To obtain an ID card your enrolment details must appear on QUT Virtual. You will be required to show some photographic proof of identity to obtain a QUT ID card (Driver's License or Learner's Permit, 18+ Card, Passport, Student Card from another institution etc). If you don't have some photo ID, you will require three other forms of identification, including a letter from QUT addressed to you. (Medicare Card, Credit Card, Bank Debit Card, Birth Certificate, etc.). Your QUT-Access username and password are included in your offer letter. International students must present their current passport and visa to obtain a QUT ID card. External studentsExternal students ID cards are not required to display an image. External student ID cards are bulk mailed early in each semester. Please note that external students undertaking a full-time load are (according to QR Guidelines) NOT eligible for a Queensland Rail logo. Replacement cardsYour student ID card is valid for the length of your course or four years from the date of issue, whichever is less. If you have extended the length of your course or changed course and your completion has changed, you may replace your card in the month prior to its expiry free-of-charge. Similarly, if the details on your current QUT ID card have changed (name, course level, status) you may also exchange your card for a new one. Lost or stolen cards are replaced following payment of a $15.00 replacement fee. This fee is only waived where the student produces written evidence from the QLD police that the ID card has been reported as stolen. The fee is paid to a QUT campus cashier and the receipt presented at an ID card issuing station. Replacement cards are issued on the spot. To get your replacement ID card you must provide photographic proof of identity. Acceptable photographic identification includes a Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit, 18+ Card, Passport, Student Card from another institution etc. If you do not have photographic ID, you will need to provide three other forms of identification (Medicare Card, Credit Card, Bank Debit Card, Birth Certificate etc.) including a letter from QUT addressed to you.
