The QUT ID card officially identifies you as a QUT employee and is required if you wish to borrow books or equipment from the Library, enter rooms and buildings which use the electronic card access system and free travel on the intercampus shuttle bus.

The expiry date on your QUT ID card will depend upon the nature of your appointment:

  • Cards for permanent and tenured staff will expire 5 years after issue.
  • Contracted staff will be issued cards that expire following a period of grace at the completion of their contract.
  • Cards for staff with a fixed term appointment will be valid for the length of the appointment.

Replacement cards

Cards will be replaced at no charge when they reach their expiry date or where your details (name, title, status) have changed.

Lost or stolen cards are replaced at any Student Centre on payment of a $15.00 replacement fee. This fee is only waived on production of written evidence from the QLD police that the ID card has been reported as stolen. The fee is paid to a QUT campus cashier and the receipt presented at an ID card issuing station. Replacement cards are issued on the spot.

Replacement QUT ID cards will be immediately activated for QUT Library use.
