WebMail: QUT's web based email service (WebMail) that provides staff and students with an email account accessible via a web browser.

WEI: see work experience in industry.

withdrawal: electing not to continue with studies in a certain unit or course. Generally, withdrawal without academic penalty from a unit or course can only be done up to a certain date within a teaching period unless special circumstances apply.

work experience in industry (WEI): work undertaken by a student that is done as a part of, or in connection with, a course of study undertaken with a higher education provider, in respect of which student learning and performance is not directed by the higher education provider, and the purpose of which is to obtain work experience relevant to the course of study.
