What's important for 2008?
- Domestic fee paying students: From 1 July 2008 there will be no late cancellation charge applied to units withdrawn from the first day of classes until the census date in a teaching period. Students will continue to be 100 per cent liable for units withdrawn after the census date. Check Table I: Domestic tuition cancellation charges to familiarise yourself with the changes.
- Student contribution: The government made changes in the 2007 Budget which affect students studying accounting, administration, economics or commerce. The changes are effective from January 2008.
Read more about student contribution changes.
- Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF): All commencing students and students changing courses have to complete a Commonwealth Assistance form. The form is available via QUT Virtual after accepting your offer. You must complete the eCAF before you can proceed with online enrolment.
Students who studied in 2004, or earlier, and are returning for the first time* in 2008 are also required to complete this form. If you have any queries, please contact the Student Centre on your campus. Check out the goingtouni website for further information.
* Includes returning from approved Leave of Absence or readmitting.
- Postgraduate tuition fees: Financial assistance is available to eligible students via completion of 'Request for FEE-HELP' form. Students enrolled in the masters courses listed below may be eligible for Student Income Support Payments via Centerlink:
- Master of Applied Science (Medical Physics)
- Master of Architecture
- Master of Business (Professional Accounting)

- Debt management: All fee-paying students who have $1,000 or more outstanding after the census date will have their enrolment discontinued. To be reinstated, a late cancellation charge must be paid. Be aware of the rules about paying fees and the consequences of not paying.
- Key dates display: The key dates search facility stores important dates for all students including financial and academic penalty dates. By specifying what you are looking for, you will get a list of dates that are relevant to you which can then be printed for future reference.
- Note: The key administrative dates printed on the second page of the academic calendar provide a skeleton of dates that apply to the main teaching periods only. Use the key dates search facility to quickly search through all dates and find those relevant to you.
