The key dates search facility enables you to search for dates from an extensive database. If you specify what you are looking for (type of date, teaching period, year), you will get a list of dates to print off for future reference. More dates are available on the web than ever before!
Quick Search
These are the most common search queries for current or upcoming teaching periods (semesters). Instead of making a section in each field, you can go straight to the list. Find it fast!
- Application due dates – a list of due dates to submit a variety of admission application forms
- Unit addition dates – a list of dates by which you have until to add units to your enrolment program and any relevant penalties
- Unit withdrawal dates – a list of unit withdrawal dates and subsequent penalties, both academic and financial.
Advanced Search
Search criteria
- Category – choose a category, or search on all. Some categories have sub-headings to allow you to narrow your search.
- Teaching period – if you know what teaching period (semester) you are looking for, specify it here.
- Type of student – you can search for dates that are specific to domestic or international students, or all. 'All' is the default and usually the best option.
How to get the results you're looking for
General:
To get general search results, select one of the main heading items from the drop lists for the 'Category' and 'Teaching period' fields. This will return all possible entries under these headings.
Specific:
To narrow your search criteria, choose one of the sub-headings from the drop lists for the 'Category' and 'Teaching period' fields. This enables you to select a specific category to search on.
Display options
How do you want the results to be displayed? Select one of the following options:
- Events list for year – this is the preferred display option and defaults to the current academic year. This display is used if you don't know what month the date you are searching falls in. You can select a different year to search on if required.
- Events list for month – use this option if you are certain of the month the date you are looking for falls in. Nominate the month and year you wish to search on.
Search results
The results will be listed in chronological order for the teaching period specified.
Unit withdrawal dates
When searching for unit withdrawal dates in either the enrolments or fees categories, the results page will also show related unit withdrawal dates at the bottom of the screen. For example, if you search for enrolment unit withdrawal dates (academic) for a specified teaching period, then the results page will also show the fee withdrawal dates (financial) for that teaching period.
Summer teaching periods
Each year the Summer Program begins in November and continues through to February the following year. It is therefore important to understand how the summer teaching periods are structured so the correct results are returned when searching for dates. SUM and SUM1 fall in the first part of each Summer Program period whilst SUM2 falls in the second half.
Example:
To search for SUM and SUM1 dates in the 2008/2009 Summer Program you would specify 2008 in the 'Year' field on the search page.
To search for SUM2 dates in the same summer period you would search 2009.
