The policy for awards with honours does not deal with honours programs which are end-on to a bachelor degree course (see C/3.2.5). In degree courses of four or more years, a degree with honours may be awarded to students who have recorded outstanding achievement in the four-year program. Degrees with honours are also awarded to students who have recorded outstanding achievement in a component of a double degree program where that component is a degree for which awards with honours are made (see C/3.3.). First class honours, second class honours division A and second class honours division B may be awarded. Honours are awarded
Criteria for awards with honoursEligibility for awards with honours is based on a graduand's grade point average, as defined by current policy (see E/6.5) and at levels previously approved by University Academic Board on the recommendation of faculty academic boards (see C/3.5.2). Eligibility for such awards is made without regard to the time taken for completion of a course. To be eligible for an award with honours a graduand must however have completed the course within the maximum number of calendar years specified in the policy on time limits for completion of courses (see Student Rules and E/4.4). To be eligible for an award with honours a graduand must have undertaken at least 50% of total credit point requirements for the degree at QUT. Please refer to the faculty tables or contact your relevant faculty to determine if you are eligible for an award with honours. Policy |
