[Print-friendly version]

You can change your enrolment as many times as required, however it is strongly recommended that you make all changes in one request before the last date to add units. You must carefully consider timetabling, course rules, prerequisite units and course progression prior to submitting your changes.

Changes made on or before the cut-off date

Additions and substitutions can be made via your Online Enrolment portlet in QUT Virtual. A change submitted on any other document will be processed only if accompanied by a $50.00 administrative fee.

Changes made after the cut-off date

Additions or substitutions made after the deadline cannot be made online and must be made in writing, or on a Change to Enrolment Form (Restricted) (CR Form) available at Student Centres on all campuses. Such changes will be processed only if:

  • the unit coordinator has confirmed that you may enrol in the unit after the published date to add units
  • you have demonstrated the existence of special circumstances
  • you have provided proof of payment of the $50.00 late fee.

Special circumstances are defined as those applying to the student that:

  • are beyond the student's control
  • do not make their full impact on the student until on or after the last day to add units for a relevant teaching period.

Requests submitted without written support and proof of payment of the late fee will be returned unprocessed.

Waiver of the late fee

If you believe that you are entitled to have your late fee waived, you should:

  • submit your written request for a change to your enrolment program (as outlined above)
  • provide a written request (based on your special circumstances) that the $50.00 late fee be waived.

Student specific information

All Commonwealth supported students (including FEE-HELP students) must enrol in the unit of study on or before the relevant census date as per government guidelines.

International students who wish to add units exceeding the total number of credit points previously approved should seek faculty approval before doing so. Remember that international student visa holders are required to maintain full-time enrolment.

Cross-institutional and visiting students may need to submit another V Form for any further addition of units, once their initial application has been approved. You will not be permitted to add units online. You must submit the application with all necessary documentation to Student Business Services. Refer to the Key Dates for closing dates.
