Leave of absence will only be approved for international student visa holders under exceptional medical or compassionate (bereavement) grounds (The National Code para. 38 1). Leave of absence is not normally available to commencing students. Tuition fees will not be charged if Leave of Absence is requested and approved prior to the start of the teaching period.
8.2
When returning from approved Leave of Absence in a 2008 or later teaching period to the same course, international students will be initially charged the fee rate applicable for the year of their return to the course and thereafter as described in Section 3. Students who are on approved leave of absence for a teaching period in 2007 will return from leave at the fee rate that applied prior to their period of leave, and will be protected from annual increases provided they do not again interrupt their studies.
