Review of grade

During the course of a teaching period students should discuss their progress in all coursework exercises (including examinations which form part of progressive assessment) with relevant teaching staff, and can expect to be provided with a clear indication of the extent to which they have or have not achieved the objectives set for each assessment item.

For students who are dissatisfied with the final grade received for a unit, a three-step review process must be followed, see policy below.

Step 1 - Informal consultation with unit coordinator

Contact relevant teaching staff to seek clarification of the reason for your grade.

Step 2 - School level review of grade

After reading through the process and seeking clarification from your unit coordinator (step 1) you may wish to request a formal review of grade (step 2). An Application for Review of Grade - School Level (RGS form) should be submitted within ten working days of the release of result. The submission should contain appropriate information, documentation and a statement of the specific grounds on which the application for review is based.

Step 3 - Faculty level review of grade

If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of the school level review of grade (step 2), you may apply to the Registrar for a faculty level review. An Application for a Review of Grade – Faculty level (RGF form) should be submitted within 5 working days of notification of the outcome of the School-level review.
