Entry based on senior results |
|
Current year 12 studentsStudents who are currently studying Year 12 in Queensland will have their application to QUT considered based on their Year 12 Student Profile. Offers to QUT are made to eligible applicants with the highest OP. Field positions are used to distinguish between applicants within an OP band when it is not possible to offer all applicants within that band a place in a particular course. Interstate school leavers are allocated a rank. This is determined by the student's senior studies and is done automatically by QTAC. See page 20 of Real Options for a guide to converting interstate results. Completing senior without an OP scoreWhere an applicant does not have an OP, or if they they have an OP from a previous year, a rank will be assigned. Ranks are calculated using senior results regardless of when they were gained. See page 20 of Real Options for a guide to converting recent Year 12 results. If you are not eligible to receive an OP you may still be considered for entry to QUT. Applicants must have completed at least 20 semester units of Authority, Authorities-registered and Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects as reported on their Senior Certificate to be considered. A rank is calculated on the basis of a weighted GPA using the best 20 semester units. Applicants who were awarded a Tertiary Entrance (TE) score between 1974 and 1991 can calculate their rank by simply dividing their TE score by 10 and rounding it down to the nearest whole number. Studying external seniorApplicants who are under 21 years of age at the end of the year in which they complete their last senior subject must complete five external senior subjects. Applicants who are 21 years or older need only complete four external senior subjects. Achievement level results are converted to numerical ratings using the following: These are added together to give an aggregate score, which corresponds to a rank listed in the External Senior table on page 22 of Real Options. |
