How offers are made

After you have lodged your QTAC application and TANF you will be considered on the following basis:

1. You have completed a degree (or equivalent).

  • Accepted qualifications
The following completed qualifications are equivalent to degrees for the purposes of admission to the Graduate Diploma in Education (and other QUT graduate entry offerings):
    • Honours degrees
    • graduate diplomas
    • masters
      or
    • doctorates.
This includes equivalent overseas qualifications as assessed by QTAC/QUT Admissions (as per NOOSR and NARIC guidelines where available).
  • Qualifications NOT accepted
    • incomplete degrees and/or postgraduate studies (regardless of total amount of study)
    • graduate certificates
    • sub-degree qualifications
    • overseas degree (or higher) qualifications assessed by QTAC/QUT Admissions as being sub-degree qualifications (as per NOOSR and NARIC guidelines where available)
    • unaccredited ‘degrees'.

  • Mid-year applications
    • If you are completing your degree (or equivalent) in Semester 1, your Semester 1 results may not be released in time to be included for the QTAC June offer round.
    • If Semester 1 results and course completion information become available before the QTAC June offer round you must notify QTAC that your course completion information is now available. Note: if you are studying at an institution where QTAC is unable to obtain the results electronically, you are responsible for providing your academic record showing Semester 1, 2009 results and course completion.

2. You are eligible for the teaching area(s) you have nominated on your TANF.

3. You meet the cut-off rank.

Ranks for the Graduate Diploma in Education are calculated on the basis of the amount of study and the grade point average for degree and higher qualifications only. Pages 15 to 20 of Real Options detail how ranks from tertiary study are used and how ranks are calculated for degree and graduate diplomas. If you have completed honours, masters or a doctorate ranks are calculated by using the Real Options Supplementary Table 11.

4. The Graduate Diploma in Education (Senior Years) is your highest eligible QTAC preference.
