Q-Step Year 10 ConferenceA one day Year 10 event has been run annually at QUT since 1994. Through faculty workshops, study skill lectures and a university orientation, Year 10 students are provided with the opportunity to learn about university. Formally known as The Winter School, this event endeavours to encourage Year 10 students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in the program. The students find out about the differences between school and university. Introduction to QUT courses are also addressed at a time when students have to make subject decisions which could affect their post-school opportunities. Three Year 10 Conferences are being held in 2008 at both Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses. Contact Q-Step or your School Guidance Officer to register your interest or obtain more information.
