From 2010 onwards, new Commonwealth Scholarships will be awarded and paid by Centrelink to a significantly increased number of recipients. Applications for Indigenous Access Scholarships will be made directly to QUT. Existing Commonwealth Scholarship recipients will continue to be paid by QUT. For further detail of the proposed reforms to Student Income Support, visit the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) website.
Please note that this change is not yet finalised. Check the DEEWR website for updates.
In addition, QUT’s Equity Scholarships Scheme will continue to provide up to $2.5 million in scholarships, bursaries and computers to low-income students – including those who are not eligible for Commonwealth Scholarships. QUT's Equity Services Department are currently developing the details of the QUT Scheme to ensure that as many students as possible can receive financial support to study. To receive the latest information as it becomes available, please join the Equity Scholarships mailing list by emailing equityscholarships@qut.edu.au.
The QUT Equity Scholarships application will be available in August from www.equity.qut.edu.au/scholarships and must be submitted directly to QUT before the closing date of 29 October 2010.
