Q-Step Program – for low income students

If you come from a low income background and would like to undertake one of QUT's undergraduate courses, you may be eligible for assistance through the University's special entry program, Q-Step.

Q-Step eligible applicants may receive admission bonuses of up to three (3) OP bands or six (6) ranks for entry to most undergraduate degree courses at QUT.

Commencing students, who are accepted through the Q-Step Program and who enrol at QUT for the first time, are guaranteed a QUT Equity Bursary.

I attended many Q-Step run events during high school, which encouraged me to further my education in the realms of QUT. I attended the Q-Step Orientation and I no longer felt I was the only disadvantaged one, even if I was the only graduate from my high school there.

Now a scholarship recipient I am proud to say my disadvantage has transformed into an advantage - I am furthering my education, I am a recipient of an Equity Scholarship, and can share my story with others who also thought university was never an option for them."
