Why QUT?

[Print-friendly version]

After your application has been assessed QUT will notify you of the outcome. The way we notify you depends on the type of applicant you are.

From July 2007

Domestic students

  • Enrolled in a QUT course
    notified by email
Outcomes of your application will be viewable in QUT Virtual (go to the Student Services tab, then View academic advanced standing outcomes).
  • Not enrolled in the course for which advanced standing (credit) is sought (eg prospective students)
notified in writing from the Registrar

International students

  • Enrolled in a QUT course
    notified by email
  • Not enrolled in the course for which advanced standing (credit) is sought (eg prospective students)
notified in writing from the Registrar

International students are required by ESOS legislation to accept approved advanced standing (credit) outcomes in QUT Virtual (go to the Student Services tab, then Accept advanced standing outcomes).

Once you have accepted your advanced standing your advanced standing outcomes will be viewable via the View advanced standing outcomes link.

Your student visa

Advanced standing outcomes may impact on your full-time enrolment and course duration. As an international student at QUT you are responsible for your compliance with Student Visa legislation by adjusting your enrolment program and course completion date accordingly.

If you are an international student visa holder and the approved advanced standing reduces your course duration from the current duration specified in your course Confirmation of Enrolment form (eCOE), the change in course duration will be notified to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

International student visa holders need to maintain an enrolment program which enables completion within the eCOE course duration. Extensions to study beyond the eCOE duration of your course will only be possible under certain conditions. Please refer to the Applying for a Visa page on the QUT website or the Visas & Immigration page on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship website for further information.
